A Sad Day For Hip Hop 05-04-12
Bad news is bad news no matter how you receive it. This morning I woke up a grabbed the iPhone like each and every morning. Clicked on Instagram to see whats good. The first thing I saw was an image of MCA from The Beastie Boys, underneath it saying Rest In Peace…… I dropped my phone in disbelief. I could believe that he had passed. I knew he had cancer and thought he was doing somewhat well. Today, at the young age of 47 Adam MCA Yauch passed away. Today we lost a great.
MCA & The Beastie Boys have been a big part of my youth, young adulthood, and still to this day their music has moved me. I can’t believe I have been able to write this much. I am still at a loss. Just the other day I lost another one of my hero’s Junior Seau. Now MCA???
I had already completed my weekly Mind Tactics Show and was ready to send it off to Mix1620.com in New Jersey, and to !)2.7 Da Bomb here in Hawaii before I received the news. That previously recorded show will not air on either station. Rather, my dedication to MCA and The Beastie Boys will.
